AlpVision launches a new solution as a world première at INTERPHEX 2009- New York (March 17 – 19, booth No 2507): using an ordinary office scanner it is now possible to distinguish counterfeit tablets from authentic ones, without additional marking on the tablets and with no incremental production costs.Protection of medicine tablets without additional markingAlpVision expands its line of invisible anti-counterfeiting solutions applied to pharmaceutical products to primary packaging (blister packs), secondary packaging (folding boxes) and labels with one that is applied to the tablet itself. This new patented covert solution is based on the unique and intrinsic characteristics of the tooling used in the tablet presses. The punch die sets used by the original manufacturer are listed as reference images in a data base that serves to authenticate the tablets produced by each specificpunch die set. Just one reference is sufficient to authenticate all the tablets produced by the punch die set, counted in millions. No additional marking is necessary and the process does not incur any additional production costs. The authentication process is automatic; it can be carried out online anywhere and at any time through remote access to a secured server.
