Hekuma has developed an advanced automation line for the production of pipette tips with a cycle time of less than 5 seconds. Due to its latest drive technology and innovative, weight-optimized take-out gripper, the Hekuma side entry robot has a maximum acceleration of more than 9G. The mold open time is approximately 0.45 sec. Thus product cycle times of 4.9 sec. and less are possible. Essential parts of the clean room compatible take-out gripper are milled in one piece out of a solid block of aluminium. This means a weight reduction of 30% without compromising rigidity and long-term stability. The system is designed in the cost saving concept "machine as clean room", avoiding in many cases expensive clean room environments, as the automation system is a clean room in itself.By means of efficient picture processing systems, which check each single pipette tip regarding the precision of the outer and inner diameter, Hekuma reaches 100% quality control. Hekuma 's take-out technology, in combination with two independent testing methods, ensures that absolutely all parts are taken out of each cavity. Compared to classic PLC-based visualizations, Hekuma 's latest PC-based solution offers a significantly bigger range of functions combined with improved user friendliness and reduced capacity utilization of the PLC control system.Booth : D30
