Budelpack obtains the new FSSC 22000 Food Safety certificate
Budelpack Poortvliet BV, one of the largest contract packers for brand owners in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods market, is the first European co-packer to obtain the FSSC 22000 food safety certificate.
FSSC 22000 incorporates food safety elements already known from previous standards such as ISO 22000:2005, HACCP, BRC and IFS as well as from specifications such as PAS 220:2008.
FSSC 22000 presents one of the most comprehensive approaches to a food safety management system for those engaged in the manufacturing and packing of food items. Because of its basis in ISO 22000:2005, the new standard seamlessly integrates into other quality management systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001, making it an integral part of Budelpack’s ability to improve quality and ensure safety.
Top Quality only
“With the accreditation for FSSC 22000, we have been rewarded for having the best food safety systems and procedures in place, in addition to the quality management systems that we already had in place, such as ISO 22000, ISO 9001, BRC and IFS”, says Conny Slot, HSEQ Manager. “This accreditation perfectly fits in our strategy to deliver top performance on quality”.
