The Model Obaly company has announced its 17th Young Package international competition. The 2012 edition has a single theme - tea. The competitors will be required to pack a tea-related item. The packaged item does not necessarily need to be tea leaves or tea bags themselves. The competitors may submit packaging for any item inspired or related to the teahouse culture, tea ceremony or tea drinking.
As always, the competition is aimed at young designers of up to 30 years of age, who may submit their works for either the Secondary School and College Students or University Students and Designers of up to 30 Years of Age category. The newest edition of the competition will introduce a revised award system with financial prizes for all the first three places. The University Students category winner will receive 30,000 CZK (almost 1,200 euros). The financial prizes for the award winners are provided by one of the organizers - the Model Obaly company. This year again, a special prize will be awarded by the Slovak Design Centre. The deadline for submissions was set to March 15th 2012.
