The Biologische Heilmittel Heel GmbH located at Baden-Baden is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of homeopathic combination medications. As the demand has been increasing it was necessary for Heel to invest in 2 box erecting machines. They made their decision for 2 machines of the series MB BE Ecoline of Mohrbach Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH.

„Up to now we have not used any machinery for erecting the boxes“, explains Günter Eichler, Head of Logistics at Heel the reasons for the acquisition of the box erecting machines, “ it was our intention to allow qualified pharmaceutical skilled employees more room for taking care of the production process. We also wanted to raise the throughput and consequently reduce expenses. In the course of the automation process we have had the possibility to rework the box design which resulted in a further standardisation, an improved protection for transportation as well as in a reduction of dust particles in the pharmaceutical work environment.“
In the course of the bidding process Heel decided on the model MB BE Ecoline of Mohrbach. „The concept of the machine convinced compared with the competitors. The Ecolines offer to us an easy handling and a high performance without being technically oversized: however the machines are very robust and fulfil the pharmaceutical demands”, explicates Günter Eichler. „The decisive factor for Mohrbach was furthermore the close co-operation with Smurfit-Kappa, our carton supplier, and therewith the close coordination of our demands on the box with the functionality of the machine“, commends Günter Eichler the excellent teamwork between Mohrbach and Smurfit-Kappa.
Peter Dreher, salesman at Mohrbach Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH explains the idea behind the Ecoline series: „When developing our new Ecoline generation of box erecting machines it was our aim to set new standards in terms of operator convenience as well as price-performance-ratio. The machine should be as simple as possible, having only as much technology as needed – but without a loss of quality. “
This reflects in all areas of the machine: non-reversible, exchangeable format parts guarantee a quick change-over without potential sources of errors. The operation of the machine was reduced to the essential functions as well as the multiplicity of parts.
„Many of our customers could realise installation and commissioning of the machine themselves – successfully“, reports Peter Dreher being happy about the success of the new machine generation.
Also Günter Eichler is satisfied: „All our expectations related with the investment have been fulfilled. As a consequence the satisfaction of our employees increased. We like particularly the easy operation of the box erectors. In case of peaks of demands the introduction of new employees can be done fast and successfully. The process of box erecting has been improved considerably; the machines in stainless steel version have been integrated in the pharmaceutical production process completely and have been running successfully from the first day. Additional demands were realised by Mohrbach within shortest time. „
