Going head-to-head for the top spot are Alex Hofmann from Schubert UK, Marcel Darroch-Davies from Axelent Ltd and Mark William Flintoft from Quasar Automation Ltd. They now face a public vote to decide who will take home the gold, silver and bronze awards.
Chris Buxton, CEO of the PPMA Group and one of the Ones to Watch judges said: “If the level of competition is anything to go by, the industry is set for a bright future with such outstanding young talent. Apprenticeship schemes have been so prosperous in recent years that our young professionals are reaching commendable heights much earlier in their careers. We have no doubt that each of our finalists will continue to be inspiring examples of the industry’s potential.”
Joining Chris Buxton on the judging panel are Graham Earl, Exhibition Manager for the PPMA Show and Ian Watson, Managing Director UK & Ireland of Videojet Technologies Ltd. Watson was a welcome addition to the panel after nominating last year’s winner, adding to the insight and expertise of the panel as a whole.
The awards recognise the contributions of processing and packaging professionals under the age of 35 who have worked in the industry for at least four years. All of the finalists have continuously demonstrated exceptional entrepreneurship, commitment and innovation in their careers.
As well as receiving management training from Festo Training & Consulting, all finalists will be exhibited in the Achievement Gallery at the exhibition. The winner will also receive a 50% discount on the first 50m of their company’s stand at the PPMA Show 2013, which will take place at the Total Processing and Packaging Exhibition on 4-6 June 2013.
