# Antalis acquires packaging distributor 100 metros in Iberian expansion effort

[**Antalis**](https://www.antalis.com/en/?ref=packagingeurope.com) **has acquired packaging distribution company** [**100 metros – Soluções de Embalagem**](https://100metros.pt/?ref=packagingeurope.com) **in an effort to expand its presence on the Iberian market.**

100 metros operates from Pacos Ferreira and Lisbon and specializes in the distribution and converting of packaging components and materials, including cardboard, film, foam, and bubble wrap. Also offering in-house personalization with its own machinery, it produces customized and bespoke industrial packaging and caters to a range of sectors, including automotive and ceramics companies.

In 2023, the company – constituting 80 employees – apparently consolidated sales of €13 million.

Through the acquisition, Antalis aims to strengthen its presence in the packaging market in Iberia – adding to its recent acquisitions of [Cohal](http://cohal.com/?ref=packagingeurope.com),Garalmi, and [Gosuma](https://gosuma.es/?ref=packagingeurope.com) in Spain.

“100 metros is a tremendous opportunity thanks to its know-how in packaging converting and custom packaging development,” said Hervé Poncin, Chief Executive Officer at Antalis. “As a leading packaging distributor, Antalis aims to strengthen its global presence in order to offer the best products and services to its customers.”

Duarte Manuel Barros Dias, founder and president of 100 metros, added: “By joining Antalis, 100 metros will be able to broaden its product and customer portfolio and pursue its development in Europe thanks to an expanded product range and new international customers.”

[SÜDPACK](https://www.suedpack.com/en/?ref=packagingeurope.com) has also [acquired additional shares](https://packagingeurope.com/news/sudpack-acquires-carboliq-shares-and-appoints-new-managing-director-in-chemical-recycling-progress/10825.article?ref=packagingeurope.com) in [CARBOLIQ](https://www.carboliq.com/en/?ref=packagingeurope.com) in 2024\. This is hoped to unlock chemical recycling for flexible packaging and complex multilayer films via CARBOLIQ’s direct oiling technology.

Antalis has also unveiled its Paragon ecoMLR [paper mailer](https://packagingeurope.com/news/antalis-unveils-recyclable-paper-mailer-to-replace-bubble-and-padded-packaging/10213.article?ref=packagingeurope.com) – a lightweight, recyclable, and impact-resistant alternative to single-use mailing items.
