**Adhesive and industrial printing company** [**Boston Industrial Solutions**](http://www.bostonindustrialsolutions.com/?ref=packagingeurope.com) **has introduced what it claims is ‘the world’s first’ adhesion promoter to help latex-based inks bond effectively with acrylic and metals, aiming to tackle the issue of latex ink adhesion to acrylic surfaces in the signage industry.**

The company states that with its advanced chemical formulation, the Natron LX5 Adhesion Promoter creates a strong bond between the ink and the surface of the material. This digital primer enhances the ink’s impact strength, flexibility, weatherability, adhesion, and abrasion resistance.

As a result, it significantly improves UV ink durability, preventing chipping and peeling even in humid and extreme conditions. Boston Industrial Solutions adds that the LX5 Acrylic Primer for Latex Inks is the ‘go-to solution’ for promotional, industrial, coating, finishing, automotive, and signage industries using eco-friendly latex-based inks.

Apparently, the key features of the primer include a single-component, ready-to-use formula for easy application; improved adhesion of latex ink on acrylic and metals for long-lasting durability; increased resistance to impact, humidity, and weather elements and improved ink flexibility which prevents ink cracking or peeling.

In related news, [Siegwerk](https://www.siegwerk.com/en/home.html?ref=packagingeurope.com) introduced its [nitrocellulose (NC) free ink series](https://packagingeurope.com/news/siegwerk-seeks-improved-recyclability-with-nc-free-surface-ink-systems/12478.article?ref=packagingeurope.com) in February, for surface printing on polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) packaging solutions. Developed to meet packaging design guidelines such as those from [RecyClass](https://recyclass.eu/?ref=packagingeurope.com) and [CEFLEX](https://ceflex.eu/?ref=packagingeurope.com), the new inks include surface solutions for both flexo and gravure printing and are initially available to customers in the EMEA region.

More recently, [Brilliant Group](https://www.fluorescentcolor.com/?ref=packagingeurope.com) revealed its new Low Migration Fluorescent Ink Base (LMB) series for lithographic ink systems, seeking to address increasing industry demand for food-safe, compliant, and high-performance printing solutions. The company adds that the ink base is designed to enable ink makers to formulate with greater flexibility, improving efficiency and performance.
