[**Competek**](https://competek.com/?ref=packagingeurope.com) **has introduced Flex Mould, its new universal blow mould with an interface designed to be transferred between multiple platforms, reducing the need for machine-specific tooling.**

The new mould is said to support faster format changeovers through a tool-free replacement system, reducing setup times and aiming to make it easier to move production between compatible machines when required. Competek states that using one mould across multiple machines can also reduce the number of moulds a manufacturer needs to purchase, manage and store, lowering initial investment and ongoing operating costs while freeing up space in production and warehouse areas.

Olivier Dacquignie, manufacturing director at Competek, says:

“Flex Mould was developed around a simple concept: one mould that can be used across multiple compatible machines. By combining the mould with a dedicated interface system, manufacturers can reduce reliance on machine-specific tooling while retaining the flexibility to respond quickly to production needs.”

Dacquignie adds that the ability to transfer a mould between compatible machines also provides an effective backup solution during maintenance operations or unexpected downtime, helping to support operational continuity.

In related news, this summer [Proco Machinery](https://www.procomachinery.com/?ref=packagingeurope.com) integrated state-of-the-art [cobot technology](https://www.packagingeurope.com/proco-machinery-introduces-cobot-to-blow-moulding-machines-take-out-system/) into a new take-out system for shuttle-type blow moulding machines, said to be faster than any other system on the market. The system conveys finished containers to the back or front of the moulding machine for flame treatment, dome trimming, leak testing and other downstream operations.

Last month [Silgan Dispensing](https://silgandispensing.com/?ref=packagingeurope.com) revealed its Melodie Pirouette SNI 13 [pump](https://www.packagingeurope.com/silgan-presents-new-pump-for-refillable-moulded-glass-formats/), aiming to enable perfume houses to extend luxury fragrance packaging across a full range of refillable moulded glass formats. Silgan says the pump has been designed and built to withstand frequent and multiple refills over time.
