**Food packaging supplier** [**Faerch**](https://www.faerch.com/?ref=packagingeurope.com) **will incorporate Evolve, post-consumer recycled material that can be recycled after use into new monomaterial food packaging, into its Plaza range of food service containers.**

The Plaza range is a serving solution for salads and pastas, which Faerch says are designed to enhance on-shelf presentation and appeal. The bowls are apparently available in a wide range of sizes, which can be stacked for space-efficient storage.

According to Faerch, it is launching Evolve by Faerch into the existing Plaza range as an offer the shelf product offer. The bowls apparently vary in colour, reflecting the recycled material they are made from and helping to communicate the sustainability of the bowls to the end-consumer. The Evolve solution is intended to provide food distributions with a circular alternative to traditional clear PET packaging.

David Lucas, sales director of foodservice for UK and Ireland at Faerch UK Ltd, comments: “Evolve by Faerch is designed to close the loop on food packaging and therefore plays a key role in the industry’s transition towards a true circular economy.

“The Evolve by Faerch Plaza bowls are made from recycled household post-consumer material which, after use, can be recycled into new mono-material food packaging without any loss of quality.”

Faerch says that most of the recycled PET on the market is derived from transparent bottles, but that it is offering a tray to tray recycling scheme on an industrial scale to meet demand and prevent shortfalls – with [Tesco announcing last year](https://packagingeurope.com/tesco-to-launch-pet-tray-to-tray-recycling-initiative/?ref=packagingeurope.com) that it would take part in the initiative. The company’s recycling facility in the Netherlands is reportedly capable of taking in used post-consumer trays for collectors and sorters, and recycling them back into food grade monomaterial.

Faerch also providers its customers with [third-party audited statements on the recycled content](https://packagingeurope.com/with-audited-certificates-on-recycled-content-faerch-aims-to-set-standard/?ref=packagingeurope.com) in its PET food packaging products, with coverage across all countries where the Faerch Group operates.
