[**Tosca**](http://www.toscaltd.com/?ref=packagingeurope.com)**’s recycled and reusable euro-size pallet, developed alongside** [**Cabka**](http://www.cabka.com/?ref=packagingeurope.com)**, aims to help fresh produce supply chains comply with EU sustainability regulation without overhauling their existing automated load-carrying operations.**

With its standard dimensions of 1200 x 800 mm, the Tosca Circular Pallet (CP1208) is built to integrate into euro-size handling equipment. It is engineered to carry Tosca’s reusable plastic crates and fit seamlessly into existing operations.

Made entirely from a blend of recycled plastics, the pallet is intended to be repaired, reused, and then recycled at end-of-life. This is hoped to help customers prepare for the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation’s reuse, recycled content and traceability requirements, with RFID integration also set to improve traceability, asset management, and supply chain visibility.

The pallet features integrated deck grooves to lock crates into place without strapping – unlocking safe, stable double-stacked transport and efficient load handling. Its rounded edges seek to reduce impact points compared with traditional square skid designs and minimize damage during forklift handling.

Its durability and modular repairability are set to lower the pallet’s total cost of ownership and avoid the waste stemming from single-use, short-lived assets.

Alongside its stability, its top-deck handles and anti-slip features are expected to improve handling safety across the supply chain; the pallet is also 4 kg lighter than traditional wooden pallets for easier lifting and transportation.

These features aim to boost efficiency while also reducing physical strain on employees and lowering the risk of manual handling injuries.

Whereas wooden pallets are subject to ISPM 15 heat treatment or fumigation requirements, the Tosca Circular Pallet (CP1208) is described as non-porous, splinter-free, and easy to clean.

It features drainage holes to prevent water build-up, reduce moisture retention, and prevent product damage or contamination – all while maintaining consistent performance in automated storage and retrieval systems.

As such, the pallet is recommended for use in environments where hygiene, product protection and consistent quality are important. These might include FMCG, grower and retailer operations.

Altogether, Tosca Circular Pallet (CP1208) is intended as a consistent and reliable solution for large-scale, automated environments. It seeks to provide a stable, standardized platform to help businesses optimize and modernize their supply chains.

“The euro-size Tosca Circular Pallet (CP1208) demonstrates how reusable transport packaging can help businesses improve food safety, efficiency, support compliance with evolving regulations such as PPWR and reduce waste, all while maintaining the performance required in modern supply chains. Together with Cabka, we are helping customers turn circularity into a practical advantage across their operations.”

“Our contribution is to turn recycled plastics into durable transport products designed around customers’ operational needs,” said Cabka CEO Alex Masharov. “With this pallet, we have combined Cabka’s expertise in materials and product engineering with Tosca’s experience in pooling. Together, we are putting recycled materials to work in demanding fresh produce supply chains.”

At Fruit Attraction, Tosca aims to demonstrate how Tosca Circular Pallet (CP1208) could help growers, producers, manufacturers and retailers improve their operational performance, automation readiness, and sustainability metrics.
