Pregis launches new rightsizing portfolio

Pregis launches new rightsizing portfolio

Pregis has expanded its Sharp product range with the launch of InfinX – a new a new on-demand system that produces mailers that are sized to individual orders.

The system runs machinable-grade versions of Pregis EverTec and Pregis Poly Lite materials and offers a range of formats including paper, poly and cushioned.

The company is targeting companies that ship a diverse mix of products with this new launch, in contexts where these organisations often have to balance product protection, fulfilment efficiency and cost while also ensuring that each shipment is matched with an appropriate packaging solution.

The new system has been designed to integrate into existing lines, and Pregis says that the portfolio’s “compact vertical footprint” can help to streamline installation.

Pregis also claims that customers can benefit from lower total cost of ownership across material use, labour touches, and freight due to every mailer being built to fit the product.

Meanwhile, changeovers can switch between materials without manual tooling, meaning that the system can be adapted across different facility types.

“We were finding that more and more fulfillment operations are struggling to balance rising order volumes, broader SKU assortments and increasing pressure to control operational costs,” says Rachell Slovik, new product development director at Pregis.

“InfinX is engineered to address those challenges by creating the exact sized mailers for every order. Drawing on expertise from across Pregis in mechatronics, material science and packaging operations, our team is developing solutions that reduce material consumption and waste, minimizes manual touches and lowers total operating costs.”
